Mindfulness: A Positive Way of Life
Concentration, alertness and carefulness…all relate to being mindful. Mindfulness is a mental state which you can have by concentrating on the present moments of your life. You can do this by welcoming your thoughts and physical emotions peacefully.
First of all, you should accept that you cannot always control things and get ready to face them. Secondly, you should see them objectively and decide on what you want without stressing yourself.
Of course, this is not an easy thing to do without practice and training. However, it brings you a new way of life if it is done with full motivation. Although mindfulness stems from Buddhism, it is not only practised as a religion but also as a method of healing the body and mind in today’s medical world. According to scientific research, it helps people get rid of the stress, anxiety and depression in their lives, so they can cope with their problems more easily. In so doing, they enjoy every moment, keep alert and stay healthier.
Mindfulness is for people of all age groups: kids, teenagers or adults can easily practise it. You can either teach yourself by reading about it, or do a course and get professional training from a teacher. Practising mindfulness will both change and bring peace to your life.
Here are a few tips to start a mindful day for example.
• Change your alarm tone and have something gentle and relaxing to start the day.
• Drink a big glass of water before you have coffee or tea.
• Observe the nature. Have a walk outside, see the trees, look at the sky and breathe in some fresh air.
