Missing Vegetables

Laura has a beautiful vegetable garden. There are tomatoes, lettuce, beans and carrots in it. She planted and grew them with great effort.

Every day, she woke up very early and watered them.

One morning, while she was drinking her coffee in front of her window, she looked at her garden carefully. There was something wrong with it! The carrots were gone! The lettuce heads were shortened. There were no tomatoes. She was shocked, she ran outside. She couldn’t understand what happened. Everything was normal except the plants. Her dog was barking very loudly as if he was trying to tell her something. She went into the house, her mom said the dog barked all night long. She looked outside again and saw her dog was chasing a raccoon! Now she realized the raccoon had eaten all the vegetables in the garden. Her father put a cage in the garden. When they caught the raccoon, they called the animal center, so the vets could take him to the woods. Laura planted new tomatoes, carrots and lettuce in the garden again.
