Then a company in Finland began a service that sent the news with SMS messages. However, most people did not have mobile phones in 1993. Before 1993, you could only get the news from newspapers or radio stations while you were outside. Actually, mobile phones were not popular until the end of the 1990s. The first iPhone came out in 2007. There were smartphones before the iPhone, but the technology really became popular in 2007. Today, it feels like smartphones and social networks have been around forever, and printed newspapers are something only our grandparents read. The truth is that these things are very new. The only thing that is old is the news!
