More fact about food waste

About 30% of all the food in the world is wasted every year. This means that food waste happens everywhere around the world. But where do you think this happens most? 

People in most of Europe and North America waste the most food. They throw away about 40% of their food. In poor countries, the number isn’t high. It’s about 15%, and it’s not people who waste the food. In these countries most of the food waste happens on farms. 

In some countries, people don’t waste a lot of food because food is very important to them and they do everything they can to stop it. People in France, Japan and Canada don’t waste much food, but people in the USA and Saud Arabia waste a lot of food.
