MOVING TO NEW YORK
I’m finally moving to New York City! I am so excited. I can’t wait to take in all the sights and sounds of the most famous city in the world. But before I go to New York, I have to leave my small town, Pond Ridge. Most people in Pond Ridge take after their parents. They go to the same universities, do the same jobs and stay friends with the same families. Everyone is very nice here, but it’s too small for me. There is no action or surprises here. Most people stay home every night and watch television. The biggest news story this year was about a chicken that started a fire in the mayor’s barn. I want excitement. I want to go out without a plan and let the city take over my life. I want to take up a new hobby like learning Korean or yoga. But first I have to take down the posters from my walls and pack my bags. Watch out, New York. Sally Strithers is coming!
