Music Festivals

Last week we asked our followers to write about their favourite music festivals.
We had hundreds of great replies. Here you can read about two festivals that we found worth going.
We hope you find them interesting.

Ivana, 15, Belgrade
My favourite festival last year was the Exit Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia. I was there in May and it was amazing.
It lasted 100 days! I could listen to every type of music there, from heavy metal to dance music,
and from hip hop to punk.
It took place on the grounds of a beautiful 18th century castle on the River Danube- a truly amazing location.
I loved it because for me it felt friendly and small, even though there were around 150,000 people there.
I saw quite a few big names there, such as The White Stripes and Beastie Boys. It was more than a music festival.
I went bungee jumping, I watched some amazing films, and I met some great people.

Masataka, 17, Tokyo
I went to Fuji Rock in Japan last year. Fuji Rock festival started in 1997. It was first near Mount Fuji,
then moved to Tokyo and finally found its home at the Naeba Ski Resort. It was a beautiful location,
surrounded by mountains and forests, and the views were amazing. There was even a gondola ride!
The music was a mixture of local and international stars. There was something for everyone:
pop, rock, folk, dance music and hip hop. For example, Eminem, Oasis and Neil Young played there,
as well as less well-known acts like Warpaint and The Kills.
For me, my favourite thing about Fuji Rock was the opening party.
There was a great atmosphere, with fireworks and lots of dancing.  I loved it!
