Musical Differences
Xenia: Did you know that I’m taking guitar lessons from Myles Kennedy?
Aaron: Myles Kennedy? You mean the singer and guitarist of Alter Bridge?
Xenia: Yeah, they’re an amazing band, isn’t it?
Aaron: Oh, sure! I think he and their other guitarist . . . what’s his name?
Xenia: Tremonti.
Aaron: Right, Mark Tremonti. I think they have played the best guitar solos in rock history!
Xenia: I agree. They’re the most technically complex band I know, but they’re not the fastest.
I really love to play the guitar fast one day.
Aaron: Then you may need to listen to Megadeth, if you like heavy metal music, of course.
Xenia: Megadeth? How’s their music?
Aaron: Dave Mustaine plays the guitar faster than anyone I have ever seen, and I really admire his work.
Xenia: Cool. I’ll definitely give their songs a listen. I guess their guitar sounds is loud and bright.
Aaron: If you’re interested in warmer sounds, you can listen to jazz bands. Jazz guitars are more complex and slower, but jazz songs are warmer in general. I recommend you listen to Barney Kessel.
