My Book Review

I read a book last week. The name of the book is ‘The Secret Garden’ and the author is Frances Hodgson Burnett.

The story is about a girl. Her name is Marry Lennox. In the beginning, she lives in India. A bad illness kills everyone, so she has to move to Yorkshire. Her uncle lives there. Her uncle has a house called Misselthwaite Manor. It’s a very big house. It has got 100 rooms, but all of the doors are locked. Her uncle is very unhappy because his wife died. Mary learns about a secret garden around the back of the house. This garden belonged to the wife of her uncle. The uncle locked the garden, too. He put the keys away. Mary finds the keys, and sees that the flowers in the garden have died. She starts to plant the garden and makes it beautiful again. One day, she meets a boy who is the son of Mary’s uncle. Mary understands that the boy needs help, because he cannot walk. She brings the boy to the secret garden. Nobody knows about their visit to the garden. Mary teaches the boy how to walk. He learns to walk and they surprise the uncle. The uncle hugs his son. Everybody is happy in the end.

I think this book is interesting. I loved the book because it is about nature and friendship. Firstly, flowers and trees make people a better person. Secondly, friendship is the most important thing. Finally, you shouldn’t feel bad if you have problems. You can solve your problems, but you have to try many times.
