My Favourite Day Diwali

Diwali means the festival of light. It’s my favourite time of year. Each year, Hindus around the world celebrate for five days during October and November.

During Diwali, we play card games and dress up in special clothes. We give boxes of colourful coconut sweets called barfi to our family and friends. We light decorated candles and clay lamps called diyas. People put them in their windows and even on their roofs. You can see beautiful fireworks too!
