My First Cricket Game

Hi! I’m Rob and my mum’s name is Jane. My mum is taking me to a cricket game today. I’m so excited, I have never been to one before. My mum is a fan of cricket. She has been to over 100 games before. Today’s game is between England and India. Cricket was invented in England and the team is really good. My mum thinks we can win. Wish us luck!

My mum explained the rules of cricket to me on the way. There are 11 players, they use a bat and a ball and play on a large field. When we arrived at the field, I was amazed. It was the largest field I have ever seen. The game finally started. Mum said the most important player of the game is the batsman. The batsman uses the bat to throw the ball away from the centre. Joe Root is the star batsman of this game. He has scored the most points in his career and England has won the game. I have never seen such an exciting match in my life!
