MY NEW TOWN

MY NEW TOWN

Hello there! My name is Claire. My father has a new job in London, so we moved from Manchester to London last week. Our new house is very close to my new school, so I can walk there. It’s so nice! My mum and I are going out today to know more about the town.

Mum: Look, Claire. This big building is a shopping centre. It has got lots of shops.

Claire: Wow, it is so big! What is this square near the bank?

Mum: There is an underground station below this square.

Claire: Cool! Look Mum! There is a museum opposite the hotel. Can we visit the museum today?

Mum: Sure, but I am so hungry. Shall we eat before going to the museum?

Claire: Great! How about eating a burger?

Mum: Good idea! There is a burger restaurant next to the bank. First, we need to cross the street. Do you know what this is on the road?

Claire: Yes, I know! It’s a zebra crossing! Miss Anna taught me at school!

Mum: Perfect! Let’s wait next to the traffic light. When the light is green, we can cross the street.

Mum: Oh, Claire! Do you see that red bus at the bus station?

Claire: I know Mum. The buses are red in London! Miss May taught me that, too!

Mum: Oh! Who is Miss May?

Claire: She is my English teacher. She is so smart. I love her a lot!
