NERVOUS NELLY’S NASTY NEWS
Dear Dr. Dobbers,
I need your advice. I was investigating a robbery for my school newspaper. I am the lead student reporter, and everyone thinks I am very good at doing interviews. Anyway, I was interviewing the principal about some old football shoes that our champion used to wear. They were on display in the gymnasium, but someone stole them. While I was interviewing the principal, I saw the shoes under his desk! I couldn’t believe it. I was too scared to say anything about it, but now I feel like I have to call the police. What should I do?
Nervous Nelly
Dear Nervous Nelly,
That’s a very stressful situation! I think you should discuss it with your parents first. Let them help you decide what to do. I want to suggest some questions to talk about with them. Are you sure they were the same shoes? Maybe they looked similar, but they were actually different shoes. Why would the principal steal the shoes? Why would he leave them in a place where you could see them? I hope there is a happy ending to this story.
