New experience: doing housework

New experience: doing housework

My name is Yulia, and I am from Moscow, Russia. I’m the only child, and I usually don’t do household jobs. My mum does most of the work at home. She cooks, lays and clears the table, does the washing-up and tidies the rooms, and my dad sorts out the recycling and take out the rubbish every morning.

This summer, I’m staying with the Schneider family in Munich, Germany. Things are different here. There are three children in the family, and everybody does something around the house. I am doing some of the housework too. I make the beds in the morning and load the dishwasher in the evening. I sometimes do the ironing too, but it’s not very easy to learn.

I am learning a lot of things, and I’m starting to like doing household jobs.
