If you like swimming and being active, you may like training to be a certified lifeguard. Don’t forget that you have to be at least 15 years old and a proficient swimmer. If you enjoy spending your working hours in the sun, you’ll learn valuable lessons in responsibility and safety. To become a certified lifeguard, you have to finish a 37-hour course, which includes training in CPR, AED, first aid, proper use of rescue equipment, and treating injuries. You’ll also have to pass a written test and a swimming test. Life guarding is a rewarding job that develops confidence, decision-making skills, and professionalism.
