NEW FRIENDS

Sara: Hey, Carl. Come over here!
Carl: What is it, Sara?
Sara: This is Georgiana, my friend from high school. She’s a musician. She plays the drums.
Carl: Wow! Nice to meet you, Georgiana. I’m a guitarist in a rock band. It’s called the Doofus.
Georgiana: Oh, Carl. I know your band. You guys have a song called ‘Take Me Back’, right?
Carl: Yes. It’s our best song so far.
Georgiana: I love it. Like Sara said, I play the drums. But I don’t have a full-time job. I sometimes play in all-female bands, like the Dragon Girls.
Carl: Oh, that band. They’re from my neighbourhood. I don’t often go to concerts in town, so I don’t know much about their work.
Georgiana: They’re really good. I’m now drumming for them because their drummer is ill.
Carl: Well, maybe you can join our band. We don’t have a full-time drummer right now. It’s usually hard to find a fixed band member here. Would you like to join?
Georgiana: Sure. Let’s play and see how well we play together. Carl: Let’s do it.
