New Ways of Communication

New Ways of Communication

As technology develops, our habits of communication change. We use emails, social networking sites, online chats, blogs, video calls and cellphones to communicate. It’s impossible to escape using technology because its use is encouraged by many institutions, companies and even schools.

Handwritten mail is replaced by emails because it’s faster and more practical. You can send an email in just a few minutes to the other end of the world. Businessmen use email to communicate with customers and colleagues. Schools use email to contact parents, students and teachers. They even use it to assign homework.

Social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Myspace enable people to communicate with friends and family. They also help us find our long-lost friends. We can post and see photos and read updates posted by our friends. Companies also use social networking sites to enhance the bond among employees. Online chat websites allow people to join chatrooms and share ideas with total strangers about a specific topic.

Blogs have become very popular in recent years. Some people use blogs just for fun reasons like sharing photos or videos but some use them to share information about a specific topic, and some use them to earn money. Video calls are very popular, especially in the business world. Some companies have Skype interviews before they hire someone who lives in another city or overseas. In this way, the candidate doesn’t have to travel all the way for the interview. Parents whose children study abroad also use video calls a lot to keep in touch with their children. It’s cheap and fast.

The popularity of cell phones can’t be ignored. Today most people use smart phones which provide all the methods of communication mentioned above.
