NEW YORK CITY TOUR
Hello! Welcome to our helicopter tour of the New York City at night. I’m your tour guide Rob and Ian is your pilot tonight. It is almost midnight now, but it is a beautiful night, so you can see everything clearly. Have a nice ride!
The tour starts here at New York’s famous landmark, the Statue of Liberty. It dates back to the 1880s and was given to the USA by the French. Lady Liberty stands on an island and her torch is 93 metres into the air. We usually fly around it for a few times and go to Manhattan.
At the moment, we are flying over Manhattan. It is an island in the middle of Hudson River. Now, we are flying over Hudson Bridge. It is just one of the many bridges in New York City. Millions of people travel across them every day to get to downtown Manhattan.
In our ride, there is one thing that you see a lot of and that is skyscrapers. There is the Chrysler Building with its beautiful lights. And down there is the Empire State Building. It looks small from up here, but we usually fly closer for you to see it. Now you can see its 102nd floor and its height is 381 m.
Next, there’s a place that some people call ‘the centre of the world’, Times Square. Of course, this city is a great place for both sightseeing and shopping. You can take a walk down 5th Avenue and visit Broadway. There are many shops and you can find everything there. It is a bit late now, so there are no shops open but don’t worry. There is always something to do in New York City. That’s why everybody calls it ‘the city that never sleeps’.
