Now and Then
Things change over time. Technology and transportation devices have changed a lot. Life was different in the past. There are so many things you don’t use now but your parents used in the past. Fathers and mothers read bedtime stories for their children from a book in the past. Today, children listen to stories from their phones or tablets. They are called ‘audio books’. It means you can hear the story.
Listening to music was different in the past. People only used cassettes or CDs to listen to music. Now we use the internet and our phones instead. We can listen to music at any time from our phones.
Television is still in our lives, but it has changed a lot. Long ago, TVs were huge. They had buttons on them, and no remote control. TVs are thin now. You can find big and small televisions. People watched films from video cassettes. Now we watch films from the internet instead.
How do you do your homework? You write on a computer. If you make mistakes, it is easy to correct them. However, in the past people used typewriters instead. A typewriter is a machine with buttons on. It was difficult to correct the mistakes. If you make a mistake, you had to write everything from the beginning.
Lastly, it was difficult to find information in the past. Students used books or encyclopaedias to find information. Now, students use the internet and computers to find information.
