ONE DIRECTION

Meet Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. Together they are One Direction. It’s hard to believe that just two years ago these five boys didn’t even know each other. However, with the help of the biggest television show in the UK, The X Factor, their millions of loyal fans and some killer songs, One Direction have just seen their debut album reach number one in 15 countries around the world. They have become a global phenomenon. This is their incredible story:

Niall Horan: Niall is the only Irish member of One Direction, comes from Mullingar, in Westmeath in Ireland and is the youngest of five. His passion is playing the guitar and also, as he says, ‘having a laugh and enjoying every minute of life as a boy band member.’ Niall is often referred to as the funny one.

Louis Tomlinson: Louis is one of the oldest members of the group at 19 years of age. However, he sometimes doesn’t act like that, especially because he likes to play tricks on his friends.

Harry Styles: One Direction is Harry Styles’ second group as the 17-year-old was the lead singer in a band called White Eskimo. Harry is a huge Manchester United supporter and a fan of American singer John Mayer whose track Free Falling is Harry’s favourite song.

Liam Payne: Liam James Payne, born in Wolverhampton, is 20 and the oldest member of the group. He has health problems with his kidneys, but he says, ‘Fortunately, they work better now.’ Liam adores karaoke and tattoos. In his free time, he only wants to run away from all the media chaos and likes to take long walks.

Zayn Malik: 18-year-old Zayn comes from East Bowling. Zayn comes from a multi-cultural family and he is both Pakistani and British. He has got one older and two younger sisters and a puppy called Boris.
