ORGANISATIONS DEALING WITH WORLD HUNGER

The United Nations published a study called The State of Food Security and Nutrition in The World one year ago and according to this study around 850 million people go hungry every day. The global hunger crisis is increasing day by day and a lot of charities are trying to find solutions to the problem. A few of these charities are as follows:

HEIFER INTERNATIONAL is a non-profit organization that is active in Asia, Africa and The Americas. On their website they state their mission as working with communities to end world hunger and poverty. How do they do this? They train people in sustainable farming, help farmers get access to markets, and educate women to have leadership skills. They want them to have more opportunities in education and to be entrepreneurs.

On Facebook there are some other small communities, whose followers increase in number every day, to inform people on hunger and help local people to overcome the problem. FOOD FOR EVERYONE, whose motto is ‘our dream- A World where no one shall be victim of hunger and malnutrition,’ released a video, (which you will watch later in the writing section) to raise awareness on hunger. Similarly, One Human Family, Food for All and Carritas are other examples of these communities.

Besides these small communities, there are also more assertive organizations like RISE AGAINST HUNGER. Their aim is strong and they want to put an end to world hunger by 2023. They want to make volunteer efforts more useful. They want them to produce and pack nutritious food and send them to areas where droughts, floods, wars and political conflicts are serious problems.
