Our Responsibilities

There are 4 people in my family and we always help each other. In our house, everybody has different responsibilities. I am Bob and I have to feed our dog. My mother, Tina works a lot in a bank so she has to wake up very early and we have to help her, too. My father, John has to help her with cooking and my sister, Kim, has to help her with cleaning the house. I have to clean my own room too. My sister has to take our dog for a walk after school. In our family everybody has to go to bed and wake up on time because timing is very important for us. However, at the weekends we don’t have to go to bed early or wake up early. We are free at the weekends but of course we still help each other.

Last week we talked about our responsibilities at home and at school. When I told my friends and teacher about the things I have to do at home, they were very surprised. I learnt that my friends don’t have to do anything at home. I felt so unlucky but my mother told me that I should feel lucky because for us, being a family means sharing responsibilities.
