Out and About

In Scotland, many tourists go to Loch Ness, hoping to see the famous Loch Ness Monster. Scotland is full of mountains and has an amazing coastline too. In the far north of Scotland, you can go on whale-watching tours. The highest mountain in Britain is Ben Nevis, which is located in Scotland. You can also see the birthplace of William Wallace, also known as Braveheart. The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh, a beautiful, ancient city built on a hill, with beautiful scenery surrounding it. 

In England, there is the Lake District in the northwest and the Yorkshire Dales in the northeast. Both areas are stunning, with lots of lakes, hills, waterfalls, and rivers. There are only a few mountains in England and they aren’t very high. In the south of England, the land is flatter, but just as beautiful. In the southwest, Devon is popular with tourists. It has lots of picturesque towns and beaches. In the southeast, there are the famous White Cliffs of Dover, which look over the sea to France. The capital city of England is London. 

Wales has the only coastline in the world that you can walk the entire length of. There are also lots of deep valleys, mountains, forests and waterfalls. It is a very beautiful part of Britain and there are certainly lots of outdoor activities to do there. Many people go there to enjoy kayaking, rock climbing, and mountain walking. Cardiff is the capital of Wales and is now a popular tourist destination with a wide variety of shops, top-class entertainment and historic attractions.
