Past Inventions

Today we all live in a world of technology. We can learn about anything we want with the help of Internet. Each day a new product is being produced but actually most of the useful things that we use today were found years ago. Without these inventions and technologies, life we know today would not be possible. Now let’s have a look at some of these inventions.

Now everyone carries little memory sticks with them but in the past people used to have Floppy Disks. Before even laptops, people used big computers and they didn’t even have USB entrance. Floppy Disks were soft magnetic disks. They did the same thing with the memory stick, they were portable as well but they couldn’t hold much data.

Have you heard about Walkman? Before Mp3s and iPods people used to listen to music with a Walkman. It was a portable cassette player that allowed people to listen to music while moving. It was first developed by Sony and the first Walkman was big and expensive.

A typewriter was a small machine with type keys that produced characters on a piece of paper. Before computers, typewriters had a great importance in people’s lives. Nearly in every office or home people had one. Typewriters were invented in the 1830s and people used them up until the 1980s, when they were replaced by computers. Many journalists and writers used typewriters, but they were not as practical as computers.
