PAUL THE PALEONTOLOGIST
Paul is a paleontologist. Do you know what a paleontologist does? Paleontologists study dinosaur bones. Paul is going to tell us about some dinosaurs:
My favourite dinosaur is the Triceratops. It was a very big dinosaur, as big as an elephant. Triceratops had three big horns on its head. Two horns were above its eyes and one was on its nose. The horn on its nose was smaller than the two above its eyes. It also had a beak. Because it had horns and a beak, Triceratops looked very scary. Really, it was probably very gentle because it ate plants and flowers. It had 800 teeth, but they weren’t sharp. I like Triceratops because it was cute.
I also like Quetzalcoatlus. Quetzalcoatlus is as old as the other dinosaurs, but wasn’t really a dinosaur. Dinosaurs can’t fly, but Quetzalcoatlus could fly very well. It had wings as long as a bus.
My least favourite dinosaur is Tyrannosaurus Rex. Tyrannosaurus was bigger than Triceratops. It was really big; as big as two giraffes! It was scarier than Triceratops. It had big, sharp teeth because it ate meat. People think that Tyrannosaurus could run fast, but actually it was probably only as fast as a human.
