Dear John,

Thanks for the letter you sent last week. I’m glad to hear that you are doing well and your exam results were so good. Well done! I know that you studied hard, so you deserve it.

My exams are going to start next week, so I’m studying a lot for them at the moment. I think I’ll do really well in my English exam but I’m pretty nervous about my maths exam because I was ill and missed a couple of lessons. I would love to come and visit you for a few days if it’s okay with your mum? Can you ask her and let me know if it would be okay?

I remember last year we had a great time. I think my favourite place was that old castle you took me to. Remember? We went there and had a picnic. This time I’d love to explore the city a bit more, the aquarium looks fantastic and the new toy museum might be fun for a day out. They are top of my to-do list. Let me know if there is anything else that we should do.

I have to go now. My mother is calling me. We are going to the shopping mall to try and find a birthday present for Ben. Do you remember Ben, my little brother? He turns six years old next week, so we are going to take him to the safari park for the day. He still loves animals.
