Mr Roberts: Okay everyone. Welcome to today’s class. Some students will show their pets. Who wants to go first?

Jacob: May I go first? This is my guinea pig, Caramel. She is orange and white. She is very cheerful and squeaks a lot.

Mr Roberts: Thank you, Jacob. Who's next?

Davian: Hi everyone. This is my pet iguana, Hopper. He is three years old. He’s usually green and has got blue stripes.

Lana: Can he change colour?

Davian: Yes, he can. He turns a turquoise blue when he is happy. He turns a dark green when he is cold. I turn on his heat lamp then!

Lana: Can I go next, Mr Roberts?

Mr Roberts: Sure. What is your pet, Lana?

Lana: This is my pet tortoise. She is green and has got a hard shell. A shell protects tortoises in nature. She is also almost 30 years old.

Jacob: Wow! Really? She’s older than you!

Lana: Yes. She was my dad’s pet, and he gave her up to me. Tortoises can live to 100 years old.
