Places to Visit

There are many wonderful places to be visited around the world but there are some places that everybody should see one day. Read about some of these below and decide which one you’d like to see the most.

Venice Italy: You need to hurry up to see the sinking city. It’s a magnificent city that attracts millions of tourists with its history, art and architecture. It’s not only popular among tourists but also among film makers. Some of the beauty spots of Venice are seen in movies like From Russia with Love, Moonraker, and Casino Royale. Since there are many canals in the city, transportation mainly depends on boats. Seeing the city from a gondola will definitely amaze you. There are more than 400 bridges that connect the city.

St. Mark’s square is a must see place in Venice. It’s enclosed by famous buildings like St. Mark’s Basilica and the tall Campanile tower. The square is also famous for its pigeons.

If you have the chance to go there between 23rd January and 9th February, you can see the famous Carnival of Venice. Around three million people go to Venice for the carnival.

Petra, Jordan: Like Venice, the world wonder Petra has been a good location for Hollywood films. The city was built into rocky cliffs 2000 years ago and industrious Arab people turned the city into an important point for silk, spice and other trade routes. The city, which was carved in pink, white, red and sandstone cliff faces, was hidden in a canyon. Everything in the city like the palace, amphitheatre and temples were cut out of cliffs. Petra was rediscovered by a Swiss traveller in the 1800s. Since then it has been one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world. 

The Grand Canyon: Also one of the seven wonders of the world, it’s visited by five million people every year. It’s situated in Arizona and the site stretches for hundreds of miles. Some researchers say that the Grand Canyon was formed 5-6 million years ago although nobody knows the exact time when it was formed. There are many options to choose from in terms of activities to do there. Apart from sightseeing, you can do some hands-on or exercise related activities like hiking, biking, white-water rafting or sky walking. The Grand Canyon is the only place where you can have a sky walk tour.
