Plants for Life
Plants are very important for our lives. They play a big role in the lives of animals as well as humans. We depend on them directly and indirectly. Plants provide food, clothing, fuel, shelter and many other things.
Food: Plants provide humans with food. They provide food for animals, too.
Water: Plants regulate the water cycle. They move water from the soil to the atmosphere.
Fabric: Plants like cotton provide us with the material we need to make clothing.
Oxygen: Plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, which is used by all living beings.
Fuel: Coal and natural gas are fuels used for heating and cooking.
Medicine: Lots of plants are used for medicine. Aloe vera and tulsi are some examples.
Shelter and other products: We can use plants for building shelters, and furniture is commonly made of wood.
