Pointillism
Pointillism is a very interesting form of art. Famous artists used pointillism to create beautiful paintings. Georges Seurat and Paul Signac, two artists, made it in 1886. They put lots of small dots to make the painting, and they used bright colours. Many artists used pointillism in their paintings. Vincent Van Gogh used pointillism in his self-portrait. He liked to use bright colours to show feelings. Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol were famous artists in the 20th century. They used some pointillism in many of their paintings. In the 1950s and 1960s, many comics used pointillism as well. Look closely at your computer screen or TV. Can you see all the little dots of blue, green, and red? Inventors used pointillism in computer screens and televisions. This is why you can see such beautiful colours on your TV. Printers also use pointillism. They print pictures in only blue, red, yellow, and black. Thanks to George Seurat, we have bright colours in our technology today.
