Polar Bears in the Arctic

Polar Bears in the Arctic

Polar bears are very big and heavy animals. They live in the Arctic. It is always very cold in the Arctic. In winter it can be -30 degrees but polar bears don’t get cold because of their fur and fat. These two make them warm all the time. They are good swimmers and hunters. They can swim well in cold water. They can hunt seals or little fish because they can smell very well.

Male polar bears weigh 1000-1400 kilograms and female bears weigh 600-700 kilograms. They are mammals like cats, dogs and people. They give birth and they feed their baby with milk for 2 years.

Unfortunately, life is not very easy for the bears because of the weather. The ice is melting, and they can’t find fish to eat. When they are hungry, they get angry and it makes them very dangerous.
