Success didn’t come easily for Brad Pitt. He studied to be a journalist at the University of Missouri, but he didn’t finish the course. He left just two weeks before the end. He already knew that he wanted to be an actor.
He went to live in Los Angeles in 1985. He became a student again, this time studying acting. He didn’t have much money, so he started to take other jobs to pay for his classes. At one time, he was a limousine driver. He also had a job taking fridges from the factory to people’s homes.
Then he had an unusual job, dressing up as a chicken to get people to eat in a Mexican restaurant! Now, Brad is not only an actor but also a businessman with his own Hollywood production company.

Jennifer Hudson – a life of ups and downs
Jennifer Hudson’s life is like a film. Her father was a bus driver. He died when she was a teenager. At 16, Jennifer had to work as a cook at a fast-food restaurant. She needed money to pay for her studies. In the end, she didn’t study at university. She became a singer on a cruise ship.
Next, she went on the TV programme American Idol. She was a finalist but didn’t win. Then she made a film, Dreamgirls, and won an Oscar. At the ceremony, she talked about her first job. To thank her, the fast-food restaurant said she could eat for free at the restaurant for the rest of her life!
Sadly, in 2008, three members of Jennifer’s family died. It was the same year that she went into the studio and made her first album. The next year, her new album was Number 1, and she sang for the President of the United States.
