Public Transport Etiquette
When tourists travel to a country, the first thing that they notice is how people behave on public transport. I know a lot of people who have opinions about the people of a country just from their experience of travelling by train, underground, taxi or boat in that country. Here are a few things we need to do on public transport.
(1) ............... No one likes to wait behind you while you’re searching for your metro card in your bag. You should have it ready in your hand before you reach the bus or turnstiles at the station.
(2) ............... There are lots of people in the underground station. People want to walk freely and quickly through the train cars or platforms to get on or off the train cars. Blocking their way can be very annoying.
(3) ............... Some people really need the seats on the bus, tram or train. They can be elderly or disabled people or pregnant women. It doesn’t look good when you see young people sitting and the elderly standing.
