Rainforests

Rainforests are found in Africa, Asia, Australia and Central and South America. Everything is very big in a rainforest. There are very tall trees and plants with large leaves. Colourful birds and frogs live there, too. In a rainforest, you can find over 300 different kinds of trees.

Why are there so many different plants and animals in the rainforests? It’s because rainforests are always warm and rainy. It never snows. It usually rains there every day. All this rain and warm weather help plants grow.

Animals find lots of food to eat because there are lots of trees and plants. There are many different kinds of animals in the rainforests. For example, jaguars, sloths, tapirs, anacondas and tarantulas live in rainforests. Some animals are very dangerous.

Many kinds of food that we love come from rainforests. Chocolate, pineapples and cinnamon grow in rainforests.
