Reading: UNUSUAL FOOD AROUND THE WORLD
Ever wonder what people in other countries eat? What could be totally weird for us to eat could be delicious for others — and the other way around. Below are some examples:
* Big hairy chunky spiders are one of the traditional foods eaten in Cambodia. You can eat tarantulas barbecued, grilled, fried or served on a stick. Large juicy ants, roasted and salted like peanuts are also quite popular.
* In Vietnam, Malawi, Kenya and in many other countries it is perfectly acceptable to consume fried, salted or dried rats.
* Pig’s blood cake is a sweet treat generally made from pig’s blood and rice and sold on a wooden stick and eaten like ice cream in Taiwan.
* In Uganda, grasshoppers are caught during the rainy season, sold with or without wings and legs and eaten cooked or raw.
So, you had better be careful what to order while travelling!
