Red Fox Refuge
Welcome to the Red Fox Refuge. Here, we rehabilitate fox cubs and adult foxes. These are our newest fox cubs. They came last week. We gave each one a name. The two girl cubs are Moxie and Minnie. The two boy cubs are Mickie and Marley. A farmer found them. He called us and we got them. They are about four weeks old and need milk. Our volunteer, Rosie, comes every day and feeds them. They also eat small pieces of meat. When they are hungry, they cry loudly for food. Mickie is certainly the noisiest! Moxie is the greediest and tries to eat all the food. Minnie and Marley are very shy, and Mickie is the bravest. He investigates everything! In another month, we will release them back into the woods. Rosie likes the foxes very much, the fox cubs shouldn’t get used to humans. The refuge wants animals to stay wild. Foxes are very important predators for the environment.
