Research Week
I learnt a lot today!
1. Today was a busy day because my classmates and I went to the History Museum in our city. We all got on the school bus and went there with Miss Harris. At the entrance, the teachers did a roll call and the students got in one by one. We regrouped with our classmates inside.
2. The museum has three parts. We visited the part about our city’s ancient history. There were old clay pots and bowls from 2,000 years ago on display. The museum had put them in glass displays so we couldn’t touch them. There were also wax figures of ancient people. The figures showed how people lived then.
3. The next part was about European history during the Middle Ages (between the 5th and 15th centuries). It was really cool! There were beautiful weapons and amazing works of art from that period. I really liked the swords that were on display. They looked better than the ones we see in films.
4. The part about our modern history is the biggest part. Our teachers told us we didn’t have enough time to see everything, so we got into groups and went into different rooms. Each room was about a century. I’m interested in our recent history, so I went to the room about the 20th century. I’m sure we’ll have more research weeks, so I will go to the other rooms in the future.
