RESORT EMERGENCY

RESORT EMERGENCY

Dear Candace,

We are having terrible luck with the weather this year! We wanted to go on a vacation after the hurricane, so we went to a resort in Mexico. And guess what happened. There was a hurricane there, too! The hotel staff was prepared for emergencies, so we thought we didn’t have to worry. We were wrong! In the first hour of the hurricane, a tree fell over in the wind and destroyed our rental car! Then the power went off. The hotel gave us a flashlight, but the batteries died after ten minutes. Your Uncle Denny was in the bathroom when the batteries died, so he couldn’t find the door! I was in the hotel lobby, trying to call your mom, so I didn’t know he was stuck in the bathroom. He was walking around the bathroom in the dark. He fell down and the toilet bowl broke off the wall. Water sprayed everywhere! It knocked my perfume bottles off the counter, and they broke on the floor. Poor Uncle Denny was lying in a huge pool of water and perfume on the bathroom floor in the dark for twenty minutes, and the water was still spraying out of control from the broken toilet bowl. When I came up to the room, I heard him shouting for help. I opened the bathroom door, and a river of water came out and knocked me over. Then the smell of perfume was so strong that I almost passed out. We laugh about it now, but it was pretty bad while it was happening. Uncle Denny still smells like perfume! I hope you had fun at the dance party. Tell me more about Kevin.

Love,

Aunt Marie
