Rude Boy
Dear Aunt Helen,
I think a boy at school likes me, but I am not sure. His name is Michael. My friends told me he likes me, but he shows it in weird ways. First of all, he always interrupts me when I want to say something. He has to make a joke every time I try to talk. Last week, I was answering a question about the reading homework in my class. He started singing a song while I was talking! Maybe he was trying to distract me instead of letting me give my answer. Everybody laughed at his song. I got really mad at him, and my friends laughed even more!
The next day, he started comparing me to his mother at lunchtime! Why did he do that? He kept saying how his mum is so smart and how great her job is, and then he asked me what I wanted to do after university. I don’t know! I don’t need to know now, anyway!
Yesterday, he sat down and shared his chocolate bar with me. He just wanted to chat with me. He was really polite and funny. I don’t understand how he can be so rude one day and then so nice the next day. My friends said that boys are like that, and that means they like you. I think if Michael likes me, he should show me some respect. What do you think?
Love,
Calista
