Running like lightning

Running like lightning

I’ve lived in this small town near Boston called Newton for 5 years.
Everything in this town goes at a slow pace except one thing: sport.
This town is famous for producing some of the most successful athletes in the country, especially in running.
Although none of these athletes have been able to break world records or win medals in the Olympics,
there are more than 300 well-known sportspeople from this small town.

Ann is currently the best female runner in our town, and everybody thinks she has a promising future ahead.
She has broken every national high-school record since she entered high school in 2017.
Her coaches have worked non-stop for years to prepare her for the competitions.

Last month Ann had a bad accident, but luckily her legs weren’t hurt. She’s been able to recover quickly since then.
She thinks she has been lucky in life since she stopped worrying about bad happenings.
She feels that she can run faster after her full recovery. When you go into Ann’s bedroom,
you can see all the medals and cups she has won since middle school.
She’s also kept her first running shoes since she won her first race.
She says they remind her of how it all began for her and how far she has come.
