Safety First
Kenny and Jen are playing outside. Kenny is on a skateboard. He hasn’t got a helmet. ‘It’s dangerous what you’re doing’ says Jen, ‘You should always wear your helmet when you are skateboarding.’ ‘You are right’ says Kenny. So he puts his helmet on.
Jen is driving a go-kart. She puts the seatbelt on. She’s always careful. She doesn’t drive too fast. Kenny goes very fast on his skateboard. ‘Slow down, it’s too fast’ says Jen. Oh no! Kenny hits a wall and falls down. Jen runs to help. Kenny’s knee is bleeding. ‘It doesn’t hurt a lot’ he says. ‘I’m glad that I have got my helmet on. My head is safe’ he says. They go inside. Their mum is in the kitchen. ‘Oh, what happened kids?’ she asks. Kenny tells her about the accident. ‘I’m sorry Kenny. Let’s clean your knee and put some cream on it. Be careful next time’ says his mum.
