Screenwriter: Joanne Rowling
Joanne Rowling is a British novelist, screenwriter and film producer. She is famous for her best-selling fantasy series which she wrote under the name of J.K Rowling. The letter "J" stands for her real first name Joanne, the letter "K" is made up.
Before writing the Harry Potter series, which sold more than 400 million copies, she had different jobs. She worked as a researcher and bilingual secretary for Amnesty International and as an English teacher in Portugal. She came up with the idea of writing her first novel while she was travelling on the train to London.
Rowling is now one of the richest women in the world, 197th richest person in the UK and the first novelist who became a billionaire. She was also chosen as the “most influential woman in Britain”.
Today J.K spends her time supporting charities such as Comic Relief, One Parent Families, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain and Lumos
