Skiing

Winter holidays can be one of the most entertaining time of the year, especially when you are dealing with some winter sports such as skiing. When it comes to your safety, you must obey lots of rules while skiing. Let’s see some golden rules.

Know Yourself!

First of all, you have to be aware of your skiing skills. If you are really good at it, you should choose your route accordingly. If you don’t ski very well, you must choose an easier direction because you mustn’t put yourself or anyone in danger.

Control of Speed and Skiing

A skier must know how to move in control. When you start moving, you must adapt your speed and manner of skiing or snowboarding to your personal ability. You should check the density of traffic, terrain conditions and snow. You must also know how to move upwards, stop and start again after stopping. You may overtake another skier or snowboarder above or below and to the right or to the left provided that you leave enough space for the overtaken skier or snowboarder to make any voluntary or involuntary movement.

Respect the Signs

As a skier, you must pay attention to the signs and markings on the route because there may be some changes according to the snow and the weather. Sometimes there can be some restrictions to protect the wildlife on the route. That’s why you have to be prepared before skiing.

Be Precautious!

You have to be careful when you are in the mountains. Since there is always a possibility for an avalanche or a bear attack, you have to be alert. In case of any problems or accidents, you must carry an identification, including some information about your family members, phone numbers and your blood type.
