Soccer-Crazy Brother

Soccer-Crazy Brother

In our family, everybody knows how much my brother is crazy about sport events, especially soccer. He has never missed any matches of his team since he was 9 years old. He even has an album of all his favourite football players with such information as height, weight, the position that they play in and the number of goals in their career. In our house, it is very easy to understand that there is a match on that day, because his room is covered with the colours of his team, the house is filled with the melodies of his team and so much more. Can you imagine the screams coming out of his room when his team scores a goal? My mother complains about it a lot. She thinks that our neighbours are disturbed because of the noise that my brother makes. But soccer is very important for most of them, so they all respect him.

He not only watches the soccer matches but also plays in the university team too. Last year, a soccer tournament was held among all the universities in Portugal and their team won it. They were the first team in Portugal and they got a gold medal. Now in the university, the visitors are welcomed at the entrance of the building with this gold medal. My brother had a particular role in the championship, because he scored the last goal in the last minutes of the match. I can’t imagine what would have happened if they had lost the match. I am sure that my brother would have been the most disappointed member of the team and our job would have been so hard at home to motivate him. However, my brother never thought of negative things, since he has always had self confidence. He always tells me “If you don’t believe in yourself, you can’t make people believe in you”. I think he is right. There are so many things I can learn from my brother. I am proud of him.
