More and more people use these websites to keep in touch with their friends and find or share information. But some people think these websites keep people from talking face-to-face. They also think these websites make it easy to share untrue information.

Sixdegrees.com was the first social networking website. Many other websites, like Facebook, soon followed. Today, many adults who go online use Facebook website which was just for college students at first.

World leaders use social networking, too. Many leaders have Twitter accounts and they use it to speak to voters. Social networking also helped people protesting against their leaders. It allows them to connect with each other to share their cause.

Today, social networks are growing. Many people think they will help society whereas some others are not sure about spending so much time online.
