Solar Eclipse

Solar Eclipse

20th August 2017

Today, our school is taking us to Carbondale in Illinois in the USA to see tomorrow’s solar eclipse. We’re in the astronomy group of our school, and we’ve planned to see this solar eclipse for months now. I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun. I’ve prepared all the equipment for tomorrow’s trip. I’m going to take my telescope with me, too.

The solar eclipse has started, but it hasn’t reached its totality yet. My team and I are taking as many pictures as possible. Jake has brought his video camera, and he’s recording every moment of this beautiful event. I’m giving out special sunglasses to people who want to look directly at the solar eclipse.

That was a fantastic experience. We took a lot of photos, and Jake recorded the whole eclipse. We’re going to watch it again at home. I made a lot of cool American friends. They’re in their school astronomy teams. We’ve opened an astronomy page on Facebook so people can share their pictures of the solar eclipse with us. I’m sure there are some professional photographers who took excellent shots.
