SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT
1) ______ My parents were both working at a circus, so I was born into a circus. My dad was a knife thrower and my mom was his assistant. One day my mom was ill and couldn’t assist him. I wanted to help him and he accepted. My dad never hit me or my mom because he was a professional. I was 12 years old when I did this.
2) ______ We met at my uncle’s circus. He really wanted to be a knife thrower and he said that he needed an assistant. We wanted to be successful, so we practiced for very long hours every single day. At last we achieved our goal. The audience liked our show a lot and it was wonderful to hear our audience to say ‘Ooh’. The audience especially liked the last part of our performance. In that part we threw six knives which were on fire.
3) ______ More than eleven years ago. We worked a lot. In the first nine years of our performance my partner threw 195,300 knives at me.
4) ______Unfortunately, yes. It happened when he tried to throw the knives too close together. He hit me three times in the arm, in the leg and the top of my head. But I had no time to go to the doctor’s because the show had to go on. This is the life of circus performers.
5) ______ No, he didn’t say sorry. He didn’t apologize even after the show and I got furious. We had a big argument about that. We argued after the show. We never argued in front of the audience because it would be unprofessional.
6) ______ There’s no difference because we work as a team and if something goes wrong both of us feel bad. I love the excitement. Making people happy is a wonderful feeling.
