Fear Factor
“Fear Factor” is an American stunt reality show is very well known all over the world. It is produced by Matt Kunitz and David A. Hurwitz and directed by J. Rupert Thompson. There were 6 competitors in the earlier versions of the show and they all were competing to win $50,000. Nowadays, a slightly different version is on TV. There are four teams consisting of two people. The teams perform a stunt in each episode. If they fail one, they are eliminated right away. The winner has to do all the stunts successfully.
Who wants to be a millionaire?
“Who wants to be a millionaire?” is one of the best and the most popular talent shows all around the world. People from all age groups show interest in this show. It has spread to more than 100 countries around the world. Contestants have to answer 15-20 multiple choice questions to get the prize money. The questions start with easy ones and get more difficult after each correct answer. The highest cash prize is one million lira in the Turkish version.
American Idol
“American Idol” is a singing competition in the USA. It has been quite impactful and successful in the history of television. It first started in 2002. Contestants aim to be the best playback singer through audience votes and judge’s comments. The audience can have an impact on the results of the show by sending text messages for their favourite candidate. There is a Turkish version of the show. It is called “O Ses Türkiye”.

“Master-chef” is a cooking show. It first started in the United Kingdom in 1990. The show was created by Franc Roddam and was later produced in more than 30 countries with the same format, name and logo. Contestants make different dishes in each show and compete weekly. The show is quite popular especially in India and Australia.
So You Think You Can Dance
“So You Think You Can Dance” is an American dance competition show. It was first shown on TV in 2005. The auditions take place in different cities. Contestants dance the paso doble, jazz, salsa, hip hop and many other styles. There are two phases of the competition. During the first part, contestants are taught different dances to test their ability to learn different styles. Finalists of this part continue with second part, they compete against each giving solo, group or pair performances. The audience votes for the contestants and the judges comment on the performances. The winner receives a cash price and gains the title of ‘America’s Favorite Dancer’.
