TAMOKASHI FAMILY AND CARLOS

Mr. and Mrs. Tamokashi were worried. Their dog Carlos was missing. They lived on a small island in Tokyo. They looked everywhere on the island but couldn’t find Carlos. One day, Mr. Tamokashi heard a noise and when he opened the front door, he saw their dog, Carlos, very wet and cold.

Carlos began to disappear often. He disappeared in the morning and came back late at night. He was always wet and cold. Mr. and Mrs. Tamokashi were curious. “Where was Carlos going?” they wondered. One morning Mr. Nakamura decided to follow Carlos. The dog came to the beach and swam. Mr. Nakamura jumped into his boat and followed his dog for about three hours. He was shocked because his dog swam for three hours without stopping.

Finally, Carlos arrived at an island and there was another dog waiting for him. Carlos ran to the dog and two dogs started to play happily. The dog was Carlos’ friend. People were shocked when they heard about Carlos’ adventure. The distance between the two islands was four kilometers and the ocean was dangerous. Carlos became famous because people couldn’t believe that a dog could swim so far just for friendship.
