Team Green

Walter is at the school’s environmental club. They call themselves “Team Green”. They try to reduce the school’s paper and plastic waste. Teachers used to drink tea or coffee in paper cups and the school wasted about 80 paper cups a day. The Environment Club replaced them with mugs. Now, teachers use mugs and never waste a paper cup. Also, Walter started a project about bottled water. Every student got a plastic water bottle every day at the cafeteria for lunch. This caused a massive plastic waste. Walter talked to the catering company and got rid of the bottled water. Instead, now they have water fountains and each student brings their glass bottle to fill whenever they want. Walter got the Star Students award for this project. Team Green gives presentations at school to teach the other students how to recycle and protect the environment. Next week, they will plant trees, clean up some picnic areas and keep on doing amazing stuff for our planet.
