Teens Can Protect the Environment
As a teenager, you are not too young to make a difference around your environment. You can save it and invest for the future. Here are a few ways to start:
There are so many things you can do at home. You can save energy and help the environment by making just a few simple changes in your routine regardless of where you live. Why don’t you start by turning off the lights when you leave a room? Plus you can unplug electronic devices when you are not using them. Or remember to turn the thermostat up or down a degree or two when less power is necessary for cooling and heating. You can also replace light bulbs with new energy-saver bulbs.
There are some other things you can do at school. You can use less paper when possible and take good care of your pens and notebooks. Remember that each pen and notebook wasted means cutting down more and more trees, so why don’t we try to save them instead? You can also encourage your friends to do the same. Why don’t you arrange a clean-up day at school to pick up rubbish or plant some new trees?
You can help keep the beaches clean and looking great. There are a few incredibly simple things you can do. First of all, take a plastic bag along with you and be sure to collect any rubbish around you. Secondly, remember to pick up the food you spill, bottles, etc. and put them in the bin, too. Thirdly, do not litter the ocean waters and do not let others throw things in, either. Lastly, ask your friends about having a clean-up day at the beach. Who knows, others might see you do this and organise a clean-up crew of their own!
